The Diamondback 20-60×60 angled spotting scope is my go-to if I need a high-performing spotting spot on the go. It’s not the lightest spotting scope on the market but it’s great. It’s the lightest choice in comparison to the other models.

I have the same opinion about the Diamondback 20-60×60 straight spotting scope as above. I’d get this scoping scope if you don’t sit as you scope, have a partner while scoping and/or need a lightweight spotting scope.
The adjustable eyecup is extremely comfortable. You can twist it up and down to your liking. It has an easy focus wheel you can adjust. And honestly, a very powerful zoom eyepiece. You get a close focus of about 20 ft.

The Vortex Diamondback does come with a soft case but unfortunately, not with a tripod. Obviously, you’re going to have to buy yourself a tripod.

As a person who wears glasses, I can firmly say yes. They understand a good portion of their clients wear glasses so they accommodated that when making this product. The scope works fine for me.
What type of tripod works best?
From my experience, there are several you can choose from. Honestly, any sturdy tripod will work but if you want some good brands to look at there are a few. Some of the top brands I’d recommend would be Vanguard, Bogen, and obviously, Vortex (they make the damn things). We heard great things about the Vortex Optics High Country Tripod.
FYI: Remember, this is a pretty big spotting scope so don’t get anything flimsy. Get something sturdy but not cheap in quality.

Will the Diamondback hold up for shooting 1000 yards long?
I don’t see why it won’t. One of our staff members has used this spotting spot to spot sea lions surfacing at 800-1000 yards. Incredibly enough, to identify them the buggers.
But, from experience with the spotting scope, you won’t be seeing bullet holes at 1000 yards if the temperature, humidity, and sunlight aren’t aligned. That’s just my 2 .cents.
What are the advantages of angled vs straight?
I’ve used both but never found any real advantages to an angled Diamondback. But, with the straight, multi-task with your eyes. You keep track of a target without having to raise your head.
According to a friend of ours, angled Diamondbacks are easier to use if it’s for different-sized people. Ultimately, if you want to use this spotting scope for multiple people, get the angled. It will make it easy to switch between you and the other person. If it’s just for yourself, get the straight scope.
Plus, if you sit on the ground, an angled diamondback will be easier to use.
Does it come with an eyepiece and is it removable?
Yes, the Vortex Diamondback comes with an eyepiece. It’s built with one spotting and isn’t removable, unfortunately.
